You will explore an amazing Savannah area hardly touched by humans and full of beautiful waterfalls, wells and dunes, where you will also enjoy a morning of canoeing.
 
Your Itinerary - weekly departures (Firday to Thursday) all year
 
First Day – Palmas – Guesthouse
Upon arriving in Palmas, reception at the airport and transfer to Girassóis Guesthouse are on the agency.
 
Second Day – Palmas – Serra Geral – Cânion da Suçuarana
After breakfast, you will leave for the Ecological Station of Serra Geral in the Jalapão area. You will make a stop in the town of Ponte Alta to have lunch and by Cânion da Suçuarana (Canyon of the Mountain Lion), where you can get some refreshment in the natural fountain that springs from a crack in the rocks. You’ll spend the night at the Safari Camp.
 
Third Day – Rio Novo – Dunes
You’ll start your day with canoeing. Soon after breakfast, you will receive instructions on the practice of this sport then go down Rio Novo, one of the last drinkable water rivers in the world. You will return for lunch and embark on a trip to the region of the Dunes, known for its golden quartz sands and the plains that surround it. You will make a pause to see the sunset before returning to the Safari Camp to spend the night.
 
Fourth Day – Fervedouro Well – Soninho Well – Formiga Waterfall – Mateiros
You will visit the Fervedouro Well and its dense high pressure water, where it is impossible to sink. The well is also known for its white sands and surrounded by banana trees. After this, you will visit the Soninho Well, with its clear green waters, and the small Formiga Waterfall, with its emerald green natural pool. You will have lunch and proceed to Mateiros, a town bustling with golden hay handicrafts. Then, you’ll return to spend the night at the Safari Camp.
 
Fifth Day – Mirante da Serra
The trail to Mirante da Serra awaits you. From this lookout you can admire Jalapão and learn how the region’s famous dunes are formed by the force of the waters. You’ll return to Safari Camp for lunch and may then enjoy an afternoon the way you choose. You may go for a walk in the vicinities or simply stay at the camp. There you’ll have dinner and sleep.
 
Sixth Day – Cachoeira da Velha
After breakfast, you will leave for the Ecological Station of Serra Geral in the Jalapão area. You will make a pause by Cachoeira da Velha, a 20 metre Waterfall, and head to the Safari Camp, on the edge of the Rio Novo to have dinner and spend the night. This is one of the last drinkable water rivers in the world, known for its beautiful margins flanked by shoals which form actual little beaches of crystal clear water. You’ll have lunch then return to the guesthouse, in Palmas.
 
Seventh Day
You’ll have a free morning then get transferred to the airport.
