Located in northeastern Goiás, near Brasília, has the largest portion of continuous savanna in the world, ensuring the preservation of its special biodiversity. It is known as the Cradle of the Waters, as the top of its immense walls flow the springs of crystalline water that form beautiful waterfalls and composes the main basins of South America. The whole area is about a big plate of quartz crystal, the oldest geological heritage of the continent, formed nearly 2 billion years ago. The Cerrado biome is a mosaic of plateaus and valleys with several distinct vegetation types that have exceptional biological wealth, being considered the most biodiverse savannah of the world. There you will find numerous adventure activities, like rafting, hiking, radical circuits, canyoning expeditions and more!

About Chapada dos Veadeiros

Nestled in the heart of Brazil, at the highest point of the Central Plateau, 1,700 meters above sea level, Chapada dos Veadeiros is one of Brazil’s main destinations for nature lovers. The region is full of waterfalls, pools, canyons, streams and dense forests in an area of 65,515 hectares colored by flowers and trees like orchids, ipes, mastic and buritis.

The reserve is also refuge for endangered species such as pampas deer, the Pantanal deer, the jaguar and maned wolf, in addition to anteaters, armadillos, snakes and various species of birds such as macaws and toucans.

Covering several municipalities, such as the Colinas do Sul, Cavalcante and Alto Paraíso de Goiás, Chapada dos Veadeiros is an important national hydrographic cradle and offers itineraries ranging from quieter tours such as observations of birds, massages and meditation, to radical activities such as canyoneering and canopys near the waterfalls.

Within the Chapada dos Veadeiros National Park, whose entrance is in the Vila de São Jorge, there are two main trails leading to beautiful Saltos do Rio Preto, Canyon 2 and Carioquinhas waterfall. Saltos do Rio Preto are two waterfalls with 80 and 120 meters respectively. The first flows into one of the largest pools in the area, while the second from the top is possible to have an amazing panoramic view of the Chapada.

The Canyon 2 is a narrowing of the Rio Negro between quartz rocks accessible on foot in hikings between streams, paths and rocky fields. Less than a kilometer from the Canyon is Carioquinhas waterfalls that has natural pools perfect for swimming. Chapada dos Veadeiros has an esoteric fame motivated by the parallel 14, an imaginary line that crosses Machu Picchu in Peru and also cuts Alto Paraíso.

In addition, the city is located on a huge quartz plate. According to the mystics, these factors protect the city from natural disasters and provide good vibes. In Alto Paraiso, you can find several centers for meditation, massage and harmonization.
