Bahia has the longest coastline in Brazil. Stretching for 932km it offers an array of idealic coastal destinations good for relaxing or practicing water sports. Popular destinations include Salvador, Praia de Forte, Itacare, Ilheus, Porto Seguro and Abrolhos. Each offering clear blue waters and white sands fringed with Atlantic forest . Capital of the state of Bahia, Salvador has a coastline of 50 kilometers long and sits on Baia de Todos os Santos, or All Saints’ Bay, which is populated by over 50 stunning small islands perfect for quick beach getaways, boat trips and diving. Near to Salvador is Praia de Forte, a former fishing village full of natural beauty with white sand beaches fringed by Atlantic Forest that is home to the Tamar sea turtle preservation project.
