It is also the home of around 200 thousands Brazilian native indians.

Manaus is the capital of Amazonas, and is your gateway to this natural wonder. Tour boats leave Manaus up the Negro River to see the Meeting of the Waters, or on river excursions to explore riverbanks, streams and lakes or easy hikes in the lush forest. For those in search of real adventure you can overnight at forest lodges where you can go on jungle hikes and wildlife watching and come face-to-face with the Amazon.
